The Movie Show #49 - Kung Fu Panda & Returner
Two films I’ve seen in the last week worth talking about: KUNG FU PANDA and RETURNER.
KUNG FU PANDA is a pretty good animated film from Dreamworks. My kids enjoyed it a lot - Tay, who joins me on the podcast, gave it a nine-and-a-half out of ten. I enjoyed it as well - especially Ian McShane (aka the aptly-named Al Swearengen from DEADWOOD) as the evil Tai Lung - and it’s got a good message for the kiddies, as most of these films do.
RETURNER is a terrific 2002 Japanese film I caught on DVD during the week. It’s part-Hong Kong triad film, part-Matrix, part-Terminator, and part-Transformers. Lots of fun and cool scenes, definitely check it out!
