Tell us your favourite J-Horror flick!

I just came across the term “J-Horror” in the latest edition of WIRED mag.

J-Horror is a term used to refer to Japanese contributions to horror fiction in popular culture. Whereas American modern day horror films tend to rely heavily on special effects and a multitude of sub-genre (i.e. slashers, demons, extraterrestrials, etc.), J-horror tends to focus on the psychological fear factor and tension building (anticipation), particularly involving ghosts and poltergeist.
(From Wikipedia)

I’ve seen a couple, but I’m wondering - what are YOUR favourite J-Horror titles? What should we be reviewing on the show?

Ah crap, I used message board tags… please use this version of my comment:

Recently saw A Tale of Two Sisters and thought this was an excellent “J-Horror”, though it’s more a “K-Horror” as it was made in Korea. I highly recommend this one.

Also of Korean origin is The Eye. This one’s got a few good chills and a lovely build-up of tension.

For something a little different, check out Takashi Miike’s Audition. This is one of my favourite movies in recent years. It’s a slow build, but the brutal ending is worth it (and be warned, it’s brutal).

There are so many amazing J-Horror films. Kwaidan and Onibaba are two very artistic and excellent examples of Japanese anthology ghost stories- which I think are some of highlights of Japanese cinema. http://www.talesfromthedead.com - Thanks!
