Nathan Fillon’s big jump off the credibility cliff

Just when I thought Nathan Fillon had a chance of being the new Harrison Ford, I go and watch the trailer for SLITHER. If he makes career choices like this, he could well end up as the new  Brendan Fraser. From the highpoint of SERENITY to this? Eeee gads.

    Hmmmmm………. Right………… Looks great………..

Must be up there with Alien. It says so in the opening montage.

Still, migh be one of those so bad it’s funny films.

    Although probably not.

Hmmm, man’s gotta eat, don’t he? Did say he enjoyed Firefly more than any other job he had, didn’t he? Them hopes for a continuation of a series or another movie are with all of us, but I don’t think they pay the electric bill.

SJ, yeah I guess you’re right, but I think Johnny Depp has proven that good career choices can help you survive. Making crap films is a sure way to Kilmer-ville. I’m halfway through Firefly and Fillon is a GOD in that. I’d hate to see him frak it up.

I didn’t like the trailers very much either, but I love Nathan Fillion (correct spelling), so I was having a hard time deciding whether to see it or not.

Then I got my NY Times movie newsletter and found this blurb for the movie review:

    Slither

What makes “Slither” work is how nimbly it slaloms from yucks to yuks, slip-sliding from horror to comedy and back again on its gore-slicked foundation.

I went to see it tonight, and I really enjoyed it. However, I was the only one in the matinee. I hope it was just because it was too early in the day for an R-rated movie.

When I got back from the movies, I saw two new commercials for “Slither.” They were much better than the movie trailers and more in line with the NY Times review.

Linda, thanks for the review of SLITHER. As coincidence would have it, I’m just re-watching SERENITY today and thinking again what a high point it’s going to be in the careers of the cast. I hope to hell Joss pulls them all together for another ride.

    FOX is stupid.
Fox cancelled a great show, Firefly
    FOX executives are idiots.
FOX cancelled Drive before it got started.
FOX programmers should have their hairy chests shaved with a dull razor.
