You Guys just don’t “Get IT”. You need to start a DR Who Podcast!
    Still listening.

  2. Phillip Says:

Just listening to your Incredibles Review. Just picked up the DVD Last night at Southland K-mart (two days early if your after it).

Really think you should edit out the thing you said you should edit out or at least warn that this Movie show probably isn’t one that you should listen to if you are just trying to make up your mind about seeing the movie. I have seen it and so the slip isn’t a suprise to me. If you haven’t seen it, I think it would take something out of the movie.

  3. Phillip Says:

    For the quiz:
Max: Eric Bana (perhaps Adam Sandler)
    99: Drew Barrymore?

On remake castings, what the F*$# is Johnny Deep as Willy Wonka? I thought Adam Sandler and Jim Carey where fighting that one out. Saw the preview, that was one weird ass thing.

PS. Useless fact. Did you know Shiyt (sorry, don’t know the spelling, I mean shit in Irish word) in the Hungarian language (Magyar) is cheese. My wife is Hungarian and I have an Irish background (if you go back far enough) and I find it very funny (Small things….Yadda yadda).

What happened to the ads? I miss them. Is this a case of favouritism to one of the co-founders? Are they just losted, like the first episode. Thats it, this podcast is secretly sponsored by channel Seven’s Lost! How could I miss it for so long (got stop having a few beers at lunch).

  5. Richard Giles Says:

Great show guys. Except when is Ewan going to co-host the show. I’m getting sick of that Dalek you currently have, he hates everything ;).

  6. Tetsuo Says:

ARGH FOR FUCK’S SAKE if you’re going to review a Chinese movie, learn to pronounce the names in something that remotely resembles their actual names! If you can’t show them that little bit of resect, don’t bother. Seriously. Listening to you mangle those names was physically painful.

“Hero” a /great/ movie? Are you stoned? That movie was cinematic wallpaper. Nothing particularly impressive story-wise, but pretty to look at. Proof again that you can dress it up all you want, but a turd’s still a turd. Not to mention it was one of the most obviously political movies to be made in China in years. The message was none of this pretty sacrifice for the greater good - the whole thing was an allegory for the Tibet/Hong Kong/Taiwan/China situation, where those that continue to rebel against the motherland are killed for the good of the motherland. Zhang Yimou sold out hardcore to make that movie. Also, it wasn’t the fight scenes that were color coded - it was a Rashomon-esque series of alternative flashbacks telling different levels of the story, with each different version coded differently to represent the different emotions supposedly operating as each section’s motif.

Oh, and Jet Li is /not/ skilled in “all the major martial arts.” He’s skilled in several forms of Chinese Wushu. That’s it. He’s not skilled in Capoeira, Karate, Jiujitsu, and so on and so forth.

  7. Cameron Reilly Says:

    smack! kapow! cruncchhhh!
C’mon man! Tarantino thought it was a great movie, you can argue with me all you want, but QT is da man. Don’t fuck wit QT. Yeah that’s what I meant about Jet Li. Didn’t I say that? Sheee-it boy. Sorry bout that.

Rich - Dalek bwaaahahaha. I thought for a minute you were telling me to talk less. :-p

Molly - the ads arent there cuz *I* post-produce this show, not Mick, and I like to keep it short and sweet. Expect to hear a REAL ad this week. :-)

Eric Bana???? Noooooooo. Holy mother of god. Only if he does Max as Chopper. Hmmm, actually let’s just get the real Chopper.

(Hi Cam…Mick here :) remember that being the “techy” one i can edit all the audio files if i want..or for a matter of fact…your comments as well…so be nice…)

    Hi guys,

Just found your pod cast great show. Only listened to one episode but will be
    getting
    more.

You mentioned the bewitched movie and your right it sounds a more interesting
movie than a straight remake/retelling movie. Im looking forward to it but am also

worried that it could just be bad. As so many remakes are. Also just incase you
    didnt
know the bewitched season one is getting released on dvd to tie in with the usa
release of the movie. They are also doing two sets one in original black and white
    the
other in colurised version. Anyway i know this set is one ill be looking forward
    too.

Now about Get Smart. Which is a personal fave sereis for me. And much in the same
way as Bewitched is tying in a dvd release in to a movie remake so is get smart.
    You
didnt know get smart was doing another movie well yes they are. check

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0425061/ and the movie seems to be in the motions
    of
getting made. Which scares me a little as i sometime wish that they would just
    leave
great shows as great memories and just release them on dvd :) .

Also ive also got a crush on Samantha on bewitched and 99 was also so sexy.
Even in the mad about you ep she did.

Anyway guys keep up the good work looking forward to your next show
    bye for now
    chris nolan

  9. Phillip Says:

Cam: I can’t wait for a real ad (no really). The more money you guys make at this, the more you will put into it and the more shows of better quality will be produced for me to listen to.

On Eric Bana, don’t forget his origins were in comedy! I also meant to say Rowan Atkinson (i.e. Mr Bean).

Also for the Aussie’s out there (and more to the point Melbournites), Borders Chadstone (and I am sure other locations) has The Incredibles on DVD for $26.95 (will blog the full story later). It is great. Pixar do a great DVD. If you haven’t had a chance yet, have a look at the commentary track (I think this is what it was) on Finding Nemo. They jump in and out of the movie showing deleted scenes, how things where done and the likes.

Lastly, watched the old style cartoon on the Incredibles DVD with MR. I and Fronzezone doing the commentary and it is extremely funny. I look forward to getting to the other features of the next few weeks.

  10. Chris Says:

Peter Davison was 29 when he started Doctor Who. Jesus Christ, do your fuckin’ research when talking about Doctor Who. Davison was not the beginning of the end for Doctor Who, the BBC in 1986 was the beginning of the end.

God Cameron, stop parroting popular opinion and get an original thought!

  11. Bill Says:

For Get Smart… Jason Schwartzman as Maxwell Smart.

Mel Brooks: Go and check out season four of Curb Your Enthusiam with Larry David. They did a nice plot line throughout the season on David staring in The Producers on Broadway. It was ingenious. As for Brooks’ films, Ewan is right. He did one good film (I thought it was Blazing Saddles). Everything else is garbage. And Gene Wilder is completely overrated.

  12. Cameron Reilly Says:

hey Bill, GREAT casting! I think you’re our winner. Schwartzman would be outstanding.
